An Online Marketing Tactic That I Intend To Carry Out
While I was doing my yearly planning for 2010, I listed the five marketing strategies that I intend to carry out. Number one on that list?Article marketing. I compose and submit an article at the very least once a week.
In case you’re not knowledgeable about article marketing yet, it involves composing enlightening and useful articles and distributing them to article directories - giving consent to anybody to republish your article so long as your author resource box is left intact.
Here’s a few results I’ve personally experienced from article marketing:
High authority article directories, like Ezine Articles, enjoy an awful lot of traffic (we’re talking oodles of eyeballs every month). A lot of those who read my articles regularly click on the links in my author bio box and end up going to my site. This is no cost traffic that I otherwise may not have been able to draw in to my site!
In reality, users from article directories make up a significant slice of my website visitors. So much so that, once, my website fell from its Google’s rankings and I barely noticed it. I kept getting a good deal of site visits, mostly coming from the articles I have written and published in article directories - some of them several years old.
Improved Rankings in Google and other search engines…
Search engine optimization (SEO) specialists exclaim that on the list of most valuable methods to get high Google rankings for your targeted keywords is to get one way backlinks to your site. The secret is the anchor text of these links should be the keywords you would like to rank very high for.
This strategy performs so well that an Internet marketing guru once succeeded in getting his web site rank number one in Google with the keywords “coolest guy on earth” or something like that! - just by having all his buddies link to his website with that anchor text. That is how formidable linking is.
These are the same links you receive through the typically high-authority article directories all linking back to your site through the author resource box.
Affiliate Sales…
Some article directories allow you to link, not just to your website, but to an affiliate product’s sales page together with your affiliate links. This means that your article gets blasted all over the Internet, thus increasing the probabilities of someone clicking on your affiliate links and purchasing the product. The result? Many more affiliate commissions for you.
This concept would be the essence for the so-called “bum marketing” or lazy marketing, which doesn’t even call for you to possess a website. All you need to do is craft and present beneficial articles to article directories and you make money from your articles for so long as they’re on the internet. We’re talking years here.
An added advantage of article marketing is that you turn into a published author and, as a result, an authority on the subject matter. In fact, a friend of mine got interviewed on nationwide TV because the reporter read one of her articles on the world wide web. That’s media publicity that might have cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars! Unfortunately, I have not had that kind of media opportunity - yet!
